Texel is an advanced, batch oriented MP3 (and other formats) tagger. Main features are:
Excel like input interface with formular support to build meta tags from file names and vice versa
Cover searcher which searches for cover images in the web using sources like Amazon and Google. Batch setting available
Fast duplicate detection based on tag information with fuzzy search. Needs on a decent machine 5 minutes for 10.000 titles
No database backend, however current working state can be saved
Offline mode supported: One can edit tags without having the tracks available, can write in one shot
Read playlist files (M3U) while scanning directories and update them when tracks are moved or renamed
Prerequisits:
To use Texel you must have:
an Linux machine with KDE 4.5
Taglib 1.6 (1.5 is also possible, but without MP4/AAC support)
